More than 125 people in Marathon - a relatively small town in Florida. This was big for us. Most encouraging was the positive response, horns beeping, peace signs and cheers by passing motorists. (Many more positive drivers than negative!)

Spatchcock is so much fun to say and makes me sound like I’m a super-skilled chef. FWIW, the finished turkey was perfect.

Monarchs are a threatened species. In addition to growing lots of milkweed and pollinator plants, I sometimes bring caterpillars into protective enclosures and care for them through their various stages. This healthy female emerged from chrysalid today.
