Monarchs are a threatened species. In addition to growing lots of milkweed and pollinator plants, I sometimes bring caterpillars into protective enclosures and care for them through their various stages. This healthy female emerged from chrysalid today.

Since I retired from a job I loved, I’ve done my best to embrace this approach. That’s how I now find myself performing onstage in plays and learning to play in a steel drum band.
