I have not seen any reference to any legal basis for any of this except “Supreme Court decision” so where the heck does eithet the supposed supposed right to ”single-sex” toilets or a requirement to provide them come from?

Is it building codes? Is it case law? It is the Public Equality Duty stretched thin? Is it just a massive fantasy by a bunch of loons and a deeply credulous government?

the Equality Act bans discrimation and required everything to be accessible to all, with specific exceptions in pursuit of a legitimate aim. Genuinely, how is this being turned into a *requirement* to run toilets a particular way?

That men get to control women’s safety is more important than women’s safety, obviously.

as well as tactical voting, we need a "figure out where your vote will have the most impact and vote there" campaign for young people who can be legally registered at either their parents' home or their student/temporary address.

and that's just Europe-- it frustrates the hell out of me how rarely politicians make the point that the people who make it to Europe, never mind to the UK, are a tiny percentage of the people who were forced to leave. Lebanon and Jordan have 10x as many refugees as UK.

Blimey. I have successfully completed birthdays for all three members of my immediate family in the last six weeks and I refuse to do anything about Christmas until after *my* birthday next week. This is my week off.

ah, annoyed they didn’t tell us where they are! that’s got to be local to me in West Yorkshire.

@earlymodernjohn.bsky.social might know someone.

I agree! I just think it’s important not to be too “nobody would leave their kids behind” when people can and do make that choice and the opposite in the most awful circumstances.

Even if it's like, u30s or something, they'd need a staggering number of 25-30yo men voting Reform to cancel out that lead.
November 18, 2025 at 3:16 PM
Unless they've got an odd definition of "young", I'm pretty sure there are also more young men joining Greens than reform? YouGov has Greens *miles* ahead of anyone else with 18-24s: 36% green to 24% Labour and Reform down in single figures. That can't all be driven by women!

In 2014, 87% of asylum claims were processed within 6 months.

At the start of 2017, that figure was still 70%.

By late 2018 it was 26%.
