Heikki Lunta decided to spend the winter in Florida this year. Occasionally he would think of the UP and say "Eh, let it snow" and then he'd go to the beach and would forget about the UP.
He snowbirded back last week and went "Well, shit. Back to work" and we've gotten 3 feet of snow since then.

Eh. 5 or 6 inches. About 175 inches less than normal for this time of year.
February 12, 2024 at 6:49 PM
Holy crap, it's snowing! Yay!
(We're having a record low snow fall winter.)
February 11, 2024 at 7:02 PM
Just kidding. This is what it looks like today. That other picture is from 3 years ago and is more normal (or possibly what used to be normal) for this time of year. Supposed to get Lake effect today.nmaybe 5 inches. Woo! Let it snow!

My plow guy is late. About another 10 inches.

Maybe 6 inches more overnight. It's currently 5 degrees out. Wind chill of -14.so unusually cold. School is closed. Eh. Finally winter is here.

The folks at Marquette Mountain (a ski hill about 100 miles from here) did the Heikki Lunta Snow Dance last Friday and turned the Lake Superior snow machine on. About 2 feet of snow since this Friday. Lake Effect still falling. About an inch in the past 40 minutes. Woo! Winter is here!

Snow storm.
January 13, 2024 at 3:47 PM
Eh about 4-5 inches (so far). About 150 inches less than a normal winter.
January 7, 2024 at 4:13 PM
Eh. An inch or two. An amazingly small amount of snow here for this time of year.
January 6, 2024 at 4:53 PM
Happy New year!

Or, as Carl Sagan said "We are star stuff that has taken its destiny into it's own hands."
Or Babylon 5 "The molecules of your body are the same molecules that make up this station, and the nebula outside, that burn inside the stars themselves. We are starstuff."

The couch is very crowded. 3 dogs and 1 person DO fit no matter what the person says

What a yucky, wet, messy day out there.
My dogs are like "f*uck no. I can hold it."

Eh. Couple inches. It's Sunday and we haven't had much snow. We're on the ambulance route so we get a lane plowed and really by this afternoon the roads will be cleared.
7 years ago we had 2 1/2 feet fall overnight. So this is weird.
