Trump’s remark on May 4 about not knowing whether he needs to “uphold the Constitution” comes just a little more than 100 days after he swore an oath to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." That’s saying the quiet part out loud.

All the firings, cancelling of grants and contracts with companies , the closing of offices, disproportionately impact small towns, cities and states.

The poorer red states have less income with which to fund education. Property tax revenue is much less because property values are much lower. The federal subsidies for education in poorer communities help create a more level playing field for all students.

Trump is prepping an executive order to dismantle the Dept. of Education, directly harming students. It will drain resources from the most vulnerable, skyrocket class sizes, make higher ed more expensive, strip special ed services, and gut student civil rights protections. We won't let this happen.

While violent storms wiped out homes and killed scores of Americans, our president was posting about winning a golf tournament at his own golf club. Has he posted any concern for those who lost everything?
