Reading about Isabel Allende and delighted to discover she was fired from one of her first jobs, translating romance novels from English to Spanish, ‘for making unauthorized changes to the dialogue of the heroines to make them sound more intelligent’. Badass.

A good half term was had by all
Just read 'Great Uncle Harry: A Tale of War and Empire' a moving labour of love by Michael Palin to honour his relative. Exploring gaps in my own history now for my kids to take up as they wish & his writing has helped my focus. Why didn't I ask my mum and dad more? Too self involved no doubt.
