@dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social One of the 6 Great White Egrets and the Goldeneye at Longham Lakes. Still no Pink footed goose with the many Greylags at the site. Black necked seem to like it round the orange bouey's near to the large island.

@dorsetraptors.bsky.social Kestrel with what I took to be a shrew. I spent 2hrs watching this Kestrel on and off. Mostly going from dead tree snag to snag with some Hovering and in that 2hrs this is the only prey I saw caught. Though she could of caught while I was scanning round for other birds

Minotaur Beetle spotted several of these today on heathland, mostly on their backs, struggling to right them selfs, which I thought odd perhaps due to fighting one another?

@dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social A not so good video of the Goldeneye at Longham Lakes this afternoon of the 6th October 2025. I'M wondering whether this is an eclipse male, though I did not see any round white patch forming at the base of the bill.
