I believe potentially, Anglia Television were to be the 'third prong' of the Trident, although they did handle some international programming marketing for the Norwich based company for a time, the ITA baulked at letting three regional franchisees come under one overall ownership.

This webpage gives a handy summary of all the main Thames idents, including when they were introduced. www.avid.wiki/Thames_Telev... During the 1968 franchise round, all three newcomers Thames, LWT and Yorkshire featured early b/w idents before more familiar colour ones emerged from Nov 1969

A series devised by Philip Levene, who at the time was heavily involved in scripting 'The Avengers' (alongside Brian Clemens)

This episode takes an inciteful and fascinating snapshot of British television drama production of the mid-70s www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVXw... Peter Fiddick would also front the adult learning show 'The Television Programme' from #WestwardTelevision in 1980/81 (which all survives)

I guess the legal wig covered up the long hair style somewhat, and the barristers weren't often shot from the back either 🙂

... although - at a push - you could include the (very different) short-run 'Yellowthread Steet' in 1990.

John interestingly ran two careers in parallel - but separately. Alongside many acting roles, especially on television, he also co-wrote TV scripts with Andrew McCulloch (himself also an actor). 'Parkin's Patch' remained YTV's only full 'police series' until the arrival of 'Heartbeat' in the 1990s

A stunning piece of 'old-school' television drama - that of the 'electronic theatre' variety - where script, casting, performances, setting, lighting, direction, atmosphere, music and more all come together beautifully ... and fine at 8 episodes too, despite this coming about due to 'slot necessity'

From memory, Bravo aired the TVM of 'Possession' in 1996 (and also 'Sleepwalker'), as sales copies of the original version couldn't be traced/accessed at the time #BrianClemensThriller

A great watch tonight. 'Where the Action Is', with Edd Byrnes playing a suave, almost Bond-like character, Eddie Vallance. A completely different feel to last week's episode. #BrianClemensThriller rings the changes once again & delivers another fresh & thoroughly entertaining 65-minutes.

Yes, our British TV system/market - 3 and then 4 channels - was very different to the 'syndication' programming model designed for a multitude of local stations as in the US, Australia and a few other places. Only changed somewhat with the main arrival of satellite broadcasting in the 1990s

Reading the chapter in @martinmauthor1.bsky.social's book on how 'The Thrillers' package netted ITC $20-million in the first 8 months, selling to US stations. I bet many of them didn't realise it was the same series that some of them had finished repeating only a year earlier. #BrianClemensThriller.
