The result has been very high unit prices per KWh, substantially increasing the private savings from installing solar or investing in energy efficiency far above the actual cost reductions to the grid, while discouraging the switch away from fossil fuels to electric vehicles and heat pumps. (16/n)

The poster is US-based, but it's a shame in the UK there isn't more support for air-to-air heat pumps (the BUS subsidy applies to air-to-water heat pumps). As I understand it they're cheaper, less disruptive to install, and could even be an 'upgrade' installed alongside existing boiler systems.
