Foreground, a gigantic Douglas Fir deeply rooted in the forest, it's roots sizable & embedded in a winding leaf covered trail. Sunlight caresses the right side of its gnarly lichen covered bark illuminating its rich colours and moss. Beyond the tree forest ferns mesh together among the rust coloured leaves. Tall skinny trees are found further down the trail some with a hint of colour still left after the raging winds of November

Standing at the base of a train trestle looking east to the historic Union Street bridge in Salem, Oregon that has been renovated to carry bicycles and pedestrians across the Willamette River to and from West Salem. The bridge has a central section that used to be raised and lowered to accommodate taller river traffic.
