A momentarily sentient pattern of energy whizzing through space time, occasionally taking photos and writing stuff.
If a tide swept the Tories away in 2024, something very odd happened to the gravitational pull of the moon almost immediately after the polls had closed.

Has anyone been round the back to see if it's still there?

People are right to say press regulation and electoral reform are absolute requirements but the real rot is is exemplified by these private schools.

We don't need to guillotine royals but we must must must get rid of this system of elite radicalisation.

I would know a lot of people interested if recordings were shared online or if this were this was made into some form of MOOC :)

The then editor being taken to the basement by the spooks and forced to performatively destroy a hard drive full of incriminating eveidence was perhaps the very moment the state stopped making an effort to pretend, and of course marked the end of the Guardian as a real paper.

None of Lib Dems, Greens, SNP, PC, Scottish Greens, YP or most of the NI parties are doing this.

The entirety of British politics and all parties across the spectrum seen as legitimate by our insane media, perhaps.

And chatbots will be trained on these sources and so this version of events will be presented to people (who are increasingly using LLMs as search engines) as the apparently bias free summary of the story, decorated with god knows what other plausible sounding bullshit.

The thing they learned from fucking it here: it absolutely *did not matter at all* to their careers or political goals due to the absurd structure of UK "democracy".

So they applied the same logic to the left to even greater apparent success!

The libs are next. What could possibly go wrong?!

Nobody remembers his "minor gangsters" remark when saw some black teenagers during his London walkabout.

Colonial era racist toff to the bone.

This is... interesting. Makes me think they know just how fucked they are gonna be with Wes.

I wondered who would possibly be able to contend for a win in 2029 and Ed was my pick for various mostly cynical reasons, but I thought they'd never allow it to happen.

Perhaps they might yet

I don't think it's plausible to describe Labour as a centre-left party.

Apart from a brief flirtation with that position from 2016-19, Labour has been ideologically neoliberal, Atlantacist, and increasingly authoritarian for the past 3 decades.

I hope this mostly involves renditions of My Name is Batty!

FernGully might genuinely be the most impactful film I watched as a kid.

I was enthralled by it, still have it seared in my memory almost 4 decades later. How many of my life choices (literally went into rainforest conservation!) are down to watching that movie at the right moment?

Not actually what happened though is it.

He was on the ballot as the token lefty with no expectation that he'd win. But members wanted the policies and politics he represented. As did 40% of the public in 2017.

A competent leader with those policies cannot be allowed to survive within our system.

The only way this ever changes is with the break up of the UK. Nothing else will even touch the sides. Not Leveson II, not PR, not some antifascist counter-revolution.

The British State is a borg ship made of toxic slime mould and will cope with anything other than (metaphorical!) decapitation.
