V češtině vyšla kniha německého profesora Carla Masaly se scénářem toho, jak slabé Rusko porazí silné NATO. Je to už několikátý pokus, jak pomocí modelování scénářů vývoje varovat evropskou veřejnost i politiky - a Masala je v tomto ohledu špička.

Europeans mainly want to live in safety, have a competitive economy and good energy and infrastructure, as Eurobarometer data shows (graphic via Financial Times). But most lack the awareness that this comes at a cost and won't fall from the sky, right?

America saving Europe again? Big if that really happens.
Simple, but for many European leaders hard to grasp.
Putin runs a totalitarian state with a competent internal propaganda machine, inexhaustible fossil fuel revenues, a scary army and nukes. He will use this to extort you for things he wants and beat you up, unless and until you demonstratively fight back. Some things are simple.
Every deal that trades Ukrainian land for empty promises teaches Putin the same lesson: invade again, and the West will blink.
