So pleased to visit Cambridge as the guest speaker for the 1189th meeting of the New England Botanical Society. Kept thinking the ghost of Asa Gray was in the back of the room, but it was probably just my imagination.

Look at that baffled squirrel! The homemade bird feeder baffle has so far worked for 3 whole days. I used to be the dumbest mammal in the yard. What now?

Aluminum catering pan and something gauge wire.

4 more to round it out. Foliage in central PA has been unexpectedly good.

Only fully reproductive non-cultivated Pawlownia tomentosa I’ve found in town thus far. This one is a real survivor. Gotta give it some props. #iamabotanist

With my childhood idol, in September 2014, after introducing her talk at Bucknell. One of the highlights of my life.

RIP Dr. Goodall. Unparalleled, indefatigable, irreplaceable.

Excited to begin the search for the next (6th) Burpee Post-Doctoral Fellow in Botany here in my lab at Bucknell! Funded research and teacher-scholar training embedded in the primarily undergraduate institution (#PUI) environment.

Pleased that the Manning #Herbarium at Bucknell University is among 400 surveyed for this new paper -- and especially to be among the 261 small collections caring for 7.6 million specimens! #iamabotanist @plantspeopleplanet.bsky.social nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....

Enjoyed talking about #BotanicalSexism in tree planting... which tbh I think is mostly just like its initials. Gotta be dioecious & wind pollinated to support the hypothesis... and options among commonly-planted street tree species are limited. Sure, red maple is a bit of a caveat. #iamabotanist
