At some point micro economics will have to affect the macro. In the meantime, the stock market marches on. The micro issues will not get everyone's complete attention until the stock market gets slammed.

We better get RFK Jr. on this pronto.

What show are you referring to? I think the line originally came from Kung Fu.

Justin, you need to stop pointing at stock market reaction every time Trump does something crazy. Sometimes, the market is going to do what the market is going to do. God forbid you start to sound like Larry Kudlow attributing every market gyration to some news event. :)

In unrelated news, the Trump Organization has just reported that they and a silent partner will soon be breaking ground on a string of Trump properties across Russia.

Justin, I enjoy reading your feed, however I wish you would stop trying to explain the hourly and daily gyrations of the stock market. I fear you will start to sound like Larry Kudlow. :)

Well, at least the Canadian fentanyl smuggling problem has been solved. Ha. Ha.

I guess Trump is determined to put MMT to the test?
May 22, 2025 at 5:52 PM
I believe the purpose of Trump's presidency is to avoid going to jail, get retribution, and personal enrichment (monetary or ego). Anything positive he may accomplish for the good of the US is purely incidental.
May 12, 2025 at 5:05 PM
And for the US companies that followed Trump's advice and have starting moving their manufacturing back to the US from Asia?
May 12, 2025 at 2:14 PM
Sweatshops or coal mines, job seekers will have a choice in Trump America.
May 6, 2025 at 5:11 PM
Coal mines for everyone. And let's cut safety regulations while we're at it.

Much like a corporate raider from the 1980's. When Trump and friends are finished, only a carcass of a country will be left and it will be leveraged to the moon.

If there is an increasing incidence of tax cheating by the super wealthy, shouldn't we consider instituting a VAT in place of an income tax? Everyone agrees that VAT's are regressive. However, a VAT may actually be less regressive than our current tax system is becoming.
April 15, 2025 at 5:19 PM
And along the way Trump will also have "acquired" financial or other concessions from companies in the industries that he "saved".

Not to be outdone, the US has Steve Witkoff. I'm afraid Ukraine will require Devine intervention.

Also similar to Pol Pot in Cambodia.

Apparently Tim Apple needs to make a larger contribution to Trump's re-election campaign. One time contributions will no longer cut it. CEO's will need a subscription.
April 13, 2025 at 9:49 PM
Did Tim Apple just make a large contribution to the Trump re-election committee?
