A little nightmare came true: the very Italian outside washing line came loose... and all our washing was two floors down on the built-in balcony of a neighbour, who was apparently out boating. Fortunately, our local contacts came by with a McGyver angle and fished all the clothes back up!

Met an actual goatherd on the hills above Salerno - 80 goats and five shee... goat-dogs. He was very open for a talk, but spoke only a rather heavy Italian dialect...

Italian trains are fast, clean, and modern. My beef would be with the timetabling. Why is there no logical, easy to remember pattern to services? Of course, it's even worse for buses (which seem to have been organized around the driver's schedules...)...

Our night train from Utrecht to Zurich was cancelled, but we managed to make it into a nice start of the holiday anyway, in five stages. 1. From Utrecht, we took a direct ICE to Stuttgart - very convenient. 2. From Stuttgart, we travelled with a transfer in Singen to Schaffhausen.

Wonderful side effects of living close to the Dom tower: every fifteen minutes, Teams notifies me I have music playing in the background.
