Today I’ve run mock Oxford interviews, attended a Y10 parents evening for two subjects, supervised a marshmallow eating competition in the playground for the whole lunch, briefed staff on a trip I’m running tomorrow, and taught some classes. This job is chaos sometimes!

By day I tell my pupils that it’s November and so we can’t play Christmas carols in lessons. By night I rehearse them for hours in my brass band. Contradiction or correlation?
