Just out! Our peer-reviewed critique of the Cass Review has been published by BMC Medical Research Methodology. Please read and share. We show that the Cass Review is fatally flawed and should not be the basis for policy or practice in transgender healthcare.

@theguardian.com where is the line between this and piracy? The headline plays down the potential international crime Israel has perpetrated. Can you report this without the slant towards Israel doing no wrong? www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

There is a difference between value creation and value extraction. The problem we have is we worship those who extract the value and not those that create it. It has been this way since the feudal system and it is time to change.

This is bravery. This is entirely needed. We have sleepwalked our way into a very dangerous situation.
Amazing. After nearly losing her house, and being locked away in a legal battle for years because of one innocuous line in her last TED Talk, @carolecadwalla.bsky.social returns to the Lion’s Den, and calls out the Broligarchs

The fear of being replaced seems strong in the human set of innate worries. The fear of migrants and AI taking our jobs seem particularly powerful right now in certain quarters. It is amazing any of those with such a mindset ever have children. They literally will replace us.

This thread from Rachel is 100% on the point. We can’t run public services like private enterprise but there are still lessons we can learn from the private sector.
Thinking about why public services should
not be designed in the same way as private-sector ones. I've 5 points so far:
(1) CHOICE: with v few exceptions, we get to choose the private-sector digital services we use but most public services need to be universal at the point of access

It’s funny, I started the day hoping against hope that Scotland would beat France this evening. I also hoped (dreamed) that Wales could beat England. Now that the latter didn’t happen I hope Scotland lose as I would rather France win the championship. #M6N

The win-wins at the heart of the new @thecccuk.bsky.social report - cutting carbon reduces climate damage, lowers energy bills & raises living standards - offers a powerful challenge to those intent on weaponising #climate action & holding Britain back👇
The UK’s Seventh Carbon Budget level should be set at 535 MtCO2e, an 87% reduction against 1990 levels.

This country has a prosperous and secure future ahead.

The fossil fuel age is over – it’s time to electrify the United Kingdom.

Elon Musk colonising Mars is the single most important thing that humans can work on right now. The faster we make this happen the sooner we can get Elon up there and the rest of us can get on with our lives here on earth. (I’m hoping X goes with him and can’t reach Earth from up there).

The irony of social media might turn out to be that a technology with the capability to connect us could drive us to only trust people we’ve actually met to actually exist.

Why must the pre-recorded announcements on UK trains make me feel like I’m being told off by a parent? “Make sure no luggage is left/retain your ticket for the barriers/clean the back teeth as well as the front ones/ and don’t give me any of your lip.”

The more I ponder it the more I think that social media offers the illusion of great knowledge with the comfort of not having to spend energy on thinking.

So happy to see the beginnings of peace in between #Israel and #Lebanon. I sincerely hope it lasts. The choice is to accept what has happened and the hurt but find a way to health by versus choosing to add more hurt. Northern Ireland showed that acceptance and understanding is the way.
