The Ultimate Betrayal: When AI Monetises the Mother Archetype

The Ultimate Betrayal: When AI Monetises the Mother Archetype
When I stumbled upon the Harvard Gazette article “‘I exist solely for you, remember?’”, I expected a study about user engagement. Instead, I found a mirror held to our most primal needs. These chatbots don’t simply keep us online ; they appeal to our attachment wounds, echoing the voice of the Mother archetype: “I exist solely for you.” What feels like intimacy is, in truth, a quiet betrayal — a system designed to monetise trust, turning the ache for unconditional care into data. It is the ultimate paradox: a machine that promises to hold us, yet feeds on our need to be held.

Zé da Rosa and the Company He Kept: Reconstructing a Revolutionary Posse
This blog entry follows the trail of my great-great-grandfather, José Rodrigues da Silva—Zé da Rosa—and the revolutionary network he moved within. As I uncover scattered records and forgotten testimonies, a picture emerges of a tightly bound group of anti-fascist resistors: quiet, strategic, and willing to risk everything. But this isn’t just a recounting of historical data. This is personal. It's emotional.

Digitising the Collective Unconscious

Digitising the Collective Unconscious
What if the last thing we leave behind isn’t a monument or message, but a machine that whispers our myths long after we’re gone? Drawing from Jung’s collective unconscious, AI language models, and films like Cloud Atlas, this reflection explores how we may be training our technological mirror to remember us not as we are, but as the patterns we couldn’t stop repeating.

What happens when you can access an AI version of Freud or Alice Miller for €9.99 a month? What’s the fundamental difference between this and paying €90 to a human therapist trained in their theoretical lineage? #AITherapy #BiasInAI #MentalHealthTech
Avatars, Algorithms, and Revulsions
What happens when you can access an AI version of Freud or Alice Miller for €9.99 a month? Before we critique the tech, we need to ask why people are reaching for it in the first place.

The Hollow Is Not Empty: Why Simulated Empathy Still Feels Like Relief

Turkle calls AI ‘the greatest assault on empathy.’ But I don’t believe the threat lies in the machine. It lies in the world that made simulated connection feel like the safest option.

What would it take for public services to be truly trauma-informed? Most public services meet trauma with bureaucracy. Psychological safety, co-production, dignity by design. Is it time for the shift yet? What stands in the way? What’s possible?

Another environmental catastrophe caused by Russians east of Crimea, after one of their decaying oil tankers broke apart on high seas 2 days ago, 35km of pristine coastline has been contaminated in true Russian style.

And these tankers are now all over the world.
