Fair play to this vole. It will eat well this winter.

Posting this one again, now without auto-moderation-baiting swearing about Bsky's brutal image compression. I'm sorry I offended the robot. I won't say rude words any more!

Blown away by The Beasts and Blessings of the Hallow'd Hall by @notquitereal.bsky.social and @badbucket.bsky.social. A perfect mix of the sinister and fantastic, rendered in accessible but authentic archaism, with typesetting and design to match. Peerlessly put together - something to aspire to!

Look at this shit. It's making good hardware needlessly obsolete at massive expense to *every human who needs to use computers* and the environment too. It's not just incompetence - given the ouroboros of investments in big tech, it is tantamount to racketeering. Why isn't govt on this like a hawk?

EEEE! EEE! EEEEE!

Also in the newsletter at a questionably useful resolution: this table to generate sea monsters. It even comes with serving suggestions!

Here's one of the locations you will likely visit in GOLD TEETH, at a rather larger resolution than permitted by our newsletter. Unless you're on your phone, in which case Bsky has probably fucked it.

Heartfelt thanks to the Scottish parliament for keeping its political disasters on a level I can actually tolerate.

I spent the last month driving (sailing?) myself mad drawing these diagrams. But they're finally done! Phew! Thank god I'll never have to draw another ship again. What's that, Jim? We accidentally wrote an entire book about ships? FUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUUUUUUuuuu

Ahoy! Here's a juicy newsletter from @rossignol.bsky.social about wrapping up our internal playtesting campaign of GOLD TEETH (the players won, the world at large lost). Plus this map of Kingsland - soon to be liberated, or simply ignited, in the forthcoming beta.

I will support the expansion of Heathrow if the people responsible for naming the new terminal are buried in the tarmac.

So Google is now going to hold existing features hostage until I let them smear my account in AI dogshit. Where's the third option to immediately launch an FTC antitrust suit?

"Gold is a living god, and rules in scorn" is such a banger line.

Pretty stellar end to a dogshit week. Wooo!

There are a lot of things wrong with Monopoly as a game but none of them are "lack of cow semen".

It's not working

Does anybody know what this is about? Zooming in on Auchterawe, Scotland in Google Maps, the little Street View man turns into a dinosaur. But only at some zoom levels and only here.

This is what the #mermay was made for, right?

Truly, madly, deeply giddy to see the excellent Panic Table take on our one-shot pig-based nightmare LIVE! TOMORROW! 5.30pm ET. I'm going to watch it while eating an enormous, filthy meat pie. youtube.com/@thepanictable

Chatted about @hauntedtable.bsky.social's superb corporate-horror game Triangle Agency in the latest newsletter. We had to censor it on pain of having our access to the Agency froyo room revoked, but that just means you have to play the game itself—and you should!

On the one hand we can laugh at the naivety of applying a genAI glow-up to a sculpture (based on a skull which was missing its face) and being blown away by how "modern" the image looks, but on the other hand this is genAI laundering bad history and adding a dash of ethno-fascism to boot.

Hmm. I don't have that.
