Speaking as a Toby, we're delightful?

...or maybe we're just reliable, predictable, and witty enough to make up for the dark cloud hanging over our heads. Our passion for small irrelevancies also has its charm, I suppose.

(Mel will tell anyone that I'm actually Toby though, not Josh. Toby and I share an unshakeable faith in our fellow humans.)

Mel and I rewatched West Wing during each of Trump's first two presidential candidacies...got too real to go for the third.

But whenever I have a really big win I turn into Josh and demand the "finest muffins and bagels in all the land" or tell everyone that "I drink from the keg of glory."

Mel and I went down hard for a *week*. The girls seemed sick for a couple days and bounced, thankfully.

My inner child was placated by the expensive single-origin beans we buy from a local coffee shop put through the expensive grinder and espresso machine we bought for the purpose...but not today.

I was just thinking to myself:

"Self, after a week of the ^%@&%! Flu, you deserve all the fancy sweet stuff you never put in your coffee today."

Apparently I have an inner child who resents the fact that I usually drink black Americano, and they take control when I'm sick.

Oh man, it's not just me who doesn't feel like it's properly Christmas till some classically-trained folks belt it out? My kids are just starting to remember and try to sing along with it, which makes it even more emotionally dense, lol.

I'll be doing them late so I can sleep a bit, but Python in nvim is my jam these days. Good luck to all!

Man, I read these books for the first time in later elementary school - it was a *wild* ride.

You know, batteries are getting more and more unreliable these days. Sometimes they just inexplicably die all at the same time. They're weird like that.

Same, though. That mayoral election will make such an impact, and our ballot just has a millage for technical ed today. Still going to be sitting here at the polling site for 16h though.

I did a deep clean of my coffee grinder and espresso machine the other day.

Went to bed *very* excited for my morning coffee.

After last night, I could be a Dodgers fan for the rest of the year
if they make it past this series.

Lo and behold, despite the Tigers being down 0-3 when we were towel-less, as soon as my friend Dave and I picked up our rally towels, the Tigers scored 9 runs to the Mariners' 0 for the remaining 4 innings.

Coincidence? I think not. We have two magic rally towels. Tigers are undefeated with them.
