Last year I scored a lot of used server gear that had an LTO drive amidst the e-waste.

Over the span of months and after some: hardware disassembly, tinkering, and learning some new operating environments, I'm finally adding TAPE to my backups.

The kind of nerdy 10 year old me always dreamed of.
A stack of LTO7 taps sit atop a laptop perched on a server rack in what appears to be a dingy basement. A tape is being ejected from the LTO tape drive and from the mess of cables in the background one can tell this is a very DIY computer project.

Everyone this is important, today is Zill's 12th birthday.

She's been with us for 10 years now and has gone from a shy, retired racer to a distinguished older lady. 1st photo is from today, 2nd is from her gotcha day in 2015.
Zill, a red fawn female greyhound turns 12 today. She's wearing a pointy party hat that reads "party animal" and is standing in the kitchen licking her chops in anticipation of a piece of cheese. Two twenty-something Millennials (male and female) hold their very first retired racing greyhound, a tiny red fawn lady named Zill.

Had a scare today with our old lady greyhound, Zill. She's on the mend and currently sleeping off the stressful day at the vet.

Of all the film stocks I'll miss shooting, near the top of the list has to be B&W Infrared film. There's still some out there, but they don't have that same oomph!
