At times it can be depressing and it is easy to fall into self pity. However I remember the darkness from when the retina completely detached. Like a black curtain At that point I was at my lowest. Now however I can see somewhat with aid and the retina is attached. I guess everything is relative.

At this point 7 months post surgery I’m not likely to see any more improvements. I will probably need prismatic lens to correct the issue.

I’m 6 months post and tomorrow I go to the optometrist to get a script for my left eye. The vision is distorted but the scleral buckle is holding the retina in place. The face down posture was the worst part of it.
