I finished up another in my "Concurrency Step-by-Step" series. This one is about everyone's favorite: protocols!

It also has a sneak peek for a super-secret idea I'm really excited about: regular old classes.

Concurrency Step-by-Step: Conforming to Protocols
If there’s one topic that I find intimidating, it’s protocols. They are very powerful and in extremely wide use. But I’m sitting here, trying to figure out how to lead into this discussion and I’m alr...

Powerful tech. Disempowered employees.

Insiders see emerging AI risks up close. But if they speak out, they face threats and blowback, with no formal protections.

It's time for real whistleblower protections in tech.

AI chatbots can feel human. But they’re not. They’re platforms built to maximize engagement.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

On this week's YUA: AI researchers from MIT explore how AI can be designed to truly support human flourishing.

Literally the only reason why I’m still on iOS is the fact that in the duopoly it’s the one that is slightly more bashful about treating its users as gaping money funnels for ads to be shoved down techcrunch.com/2025/06/24/i...
iPhone customers upset by Apple Wallet ad pushing F1 movie | TechCrunch

SwiftData didn't get many updates this year, but our SQLite alternative to SwiftData is cooking!

We've added seamless asset sync to our library. Just attach some binary data to a row (like a cover image to a reminders list), and have it immediately sync'd to all devices! 🤯

Always nice to hear Apple executives echo sentiments I've been sharing in articles and podcasts these past few months. Apple is clearly approaching AI differently, so why is the narrative focused on what they're not doing instead of what they are?

You know what would be super nice?

If a bunch of you would leave a Wipr 2 review, letting everybody know that everything's fine on YouTube!

🙏 I'd really appreciate it 🙏

Wipr doesn't bother you with review prompts, but that makes it really hard to have enough up to date reviews 🥲
