I love this kind of stuff. John’s ‘History of Video Game Water’ video from years back is one of my all-time favorite things y’all have put out. Looking forward to checking this out!

This is so cool! Shoutout to Dropout as well for regularly featuring Erica and many other great folks. 100% worth the sub (or sanctioned share).

I say this as someone who really likes this series, but I don’t feel the general public really digs Horizon. Honestly the rep amongst most gamers is that it’s the game that always gets dunked on by an all-timer. So good news: a new Horizon means a masterpiece is coming.

Incredible job getting this scoop. Congrats to you and the rest of the DF Crew for the excellent work! I’m so excited to check this out.

I am also a bit disappointed in the screen quality, but I find myself using the system in docked mode a lot more often than I did with my OLED. Having a reliable 1440p-4K image on my TV is a big improvement over Switch 1. The backwards compatibility performance has also been a nice surprise.

Heck yeah! I still regularly listen to recordings of Dylan Thomas reciting his poetry and stories. Around this time of year, “A Child’s Christmas in Whales” is basically mandatory material in our house. I’ve already made my kids listen to it more than once.

If you could immediate resurrect a forgotten franchise from your youth and give it the full AAA treatment, what would it be?

J-E-T-S! At least the players looked genuinely happy for their coach. That’s a good sign.

Enjoy the day off, y’all. You’ve earned it!

I’m feeling pretty smug having gotten mine at Wal-Mart for $350 brand-new . With Forza Horizon 5 included, no less! No offense, but outside of GamePass what incentive does anyone have to get into this ecosystem given how prohibitively expensive it’s gotten?

‘Spirited’ is certainly one way of putting it...🤣

Good luck Matt! Your work has always been great, and I’m sure you will land on your feet somewhere. Very sad to see IGN continue to treat its valuable talent as expendable resources to be sloughed off whenever one of their acquisitions doesn’t pan out.

Bummer about the delay. Didn’t you play this one last year? I think I remember you saying it had “the sauce” and was shaping up nicely. It looks so interesting, I really hope they get the time they need to put out something really special!

My current wishlist: would love to see ports of the RE Remakes that aren’t cloud-based and the Like a Dragon/Yakuza games. Also more Switch 1 title updates for ALL the frames, please.

I yearn to have a painter salute me in such a fashion someday. The ultimate respect.

Playing a Yakuza game is like visiting an old friend. The locales, people, and vibes are all so familiar and comforting, but I think that’s the point. For me, it’s the only series that evokes the feeling of playing Shenmue on the Dreamcast. And it always feels like a SEGA game.

One of my most anticipated games this year. Love the emphasis on fast action and platforming. The Shinobi game coming from the talented team at Lizardcube, aka the Streets of Rage 4 team, also looks fantastic. Ninjas are back baby!

I also think I’ve bought my last piece of Microsoft hardware. Their treatment of those in the industry is inexcusable, and it’s clear their leadership will just continue to fail upwards. Phil should resign and let someone else lead.
