File > Preferences > File (again, confusingly enough) lets you enable canvas recoveries, and set recovery data times! 15 minutes might be a bit excessive but in a pinch it means if there's a power cut or I mis-save something I only lose 15 minutes of work max. Handy!

It's interesting that this relentless, desperate yearning to treat employees like robots, is only being *amplified* by technology what promises actual robots.
