I'm pretty certain I'll never be able to enjoy the song, "It's a Man's Man's Man's World," ever again. Fortunately I was not that big on it to begin with.

Plans for this evening include a bowl of that famous lounge chili and then catching a movie. I'm not sure what's showing but it's bound to be a good one.

It's the time of year when it starts to get really cold up in the Sierra Nevada and the fur-bearing trout put on their winter coat. If you can tolerate the conditions, they'll soon be biting on just about anything.

If I understand this cover art correctly, by the year 2060 the average man will resemble Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.

It seems to me there are a lot of people who can't tell the difference between reality and fiction.

When I see pictures of people at those lavishish parties at Mar-A-Lago, most of them look like they are totally stoked to be there but occasionally I spot someone who looks like it happened against their will.

If you were the winner of The Contest of the Impossible, which prize would you choose?

A) Charlie writes a song about you and then performs it for you. One tattoo and snacks afterward.

B) Rod writes a love poem about you and then reads it to you. Pompatus of Love discussion follows.

So anyway, I started smelling her foot burning and my pistol began spontaneously firing and the next thing I knew she was telling me that she was no longer in the mood and she wanted me to take her to some kind of "Urgent Care" place and it pretty much ruined it for me.

I'm glad we got the crops in before this big rain. But I'm starting to think it may have been a mistake to only plant tobacco this year.

Believe half of what you see. Believe the other half if you see it again. Don't let it upset you. Seeing is believing; it's all perfectly normal.

I don't want to enjoy it the wrong way but I still want to enjoy Thanksgiving. I'm starting to picture how it's going to be. I hope it can ascend as the second most wonderful time of the year, with all due deference.

As a kid my favorite lunch was soup & sandwich. Dear old mom would make a bologna and cheese sandwich and I would have something like beef & barley soup too. Sometimes the soup was different. Like bean with bacon or primordial. No wonder I'm staggering around as an unhealthy old man.

Sometimes, when I sit down to write one of my little posts, I ask myself, "What would be a light-hearted and uplifting thought to share on a day like today?" And then I try to find a good picture to go with it because if you don't have that, it's a serious deal-breaker.

I love the world of full, rich, vegetabley color. But the world of black and white is so evocative and atmospheric that it becomes really hard to say which is my favorite.

I generally find the internet to be a positive place and a source of spiritual growth but one thing really annoys me - whenever I post something I've done that's really cool, somebody always comes along and tops me. When will I get to enjoy a moment of glory in peace?

This song was written by Sonny Bono and Jack Nitzsche and first recorded by Jackie DeShannon in 1963.The Searchers had a UK number one hit with their version during the same year. Hint: it's not "Spare Me Mojave."

There was some weird pink sky over Ukiah last evening. Anybody know what it was? I'm thinking it was probably just light from the El Vado sign, reflecting off the clouds.
