My thoughts are my own. You can't have 'em. Narwhals.
The Pizza Party of Canada has assumed full responsibility for yesterday's elevator "sabotage" (read: temporary reclassification as stairs) at the UN yesterday.

On the morning of September 11th, 2001, my entire school—St. Helen in Hamilton, Ontario #Hamont walked over to Incarnation of Our Lord Parish to have our start of the year school mass.

The entire school was in prayer.

We didn't find out the towers were hit until we returned to class.

In case you 2nd Amendment NRA nuts haven't noticed, now would be a great ******* time to use it.

I said what I said.

Ahh...wait until they're both together. NOW I see what the heck has been taking Americans so long.
It’s truly depraved for Trump to welcome Vladimir Putin to the US while Putin is actively wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Ukraine.

Trump calls this a peace summit but it’s just an opportunity to hang out with one of his dictator buddies. www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-a...

In 2014, the Ontario Libertarian Party almost ran an "Andrea Horvath" against Andrea Horwath, just to rank higher on the ballot. The RC said no.

Now, every time PP whines about longer ballots, I think:

Someone needs to change their name to "Pierre Poiliever" and run.

Well, this is unexpected...

A flurry of new followers has appeared like a Costco sample table just opened up.

Some of you have thousands of followers yourselves. No clue why you're here, but I assume it’s either a clerical error or the algorithm has developed a sense of humour.

Welcome!

Reposting this for my new followers. I'm new to poetry, but a modern take on this work was overdue. ✊
I usually write silly things. This isn’t one of them.

A much needed modern reflection on Wilfred Owen’s “Dulce et Decorum Est.”

A protest poem in the shadow of trench warfare, for anyone who's knelt or marched.

I hope you’ll read it.

Just checking my Blue Sky feed before bed and discovers a few dozen new followers out of nowhere. Welcome!

Here's the last meme in my photos as a welcome gift 😜✌️

Trying something new just for fun. I had all these crazy ideas for comedy sketches in the back of my mind, and today, I had the novel idea to turn them into little flash fiction sketches.

This one's about sports miracles and divine intervention. I hope you all enjoy!

Lots of talk lately about which authors may or may not be on flight logs...

I’m not on any lists. I’ve never even been on a plane.

What I do have is a free, family-friendly Substack full of short fiction—from heartfelt to totally bonkers.

My latest short story is here!

A letter. A name. A mystery tucked in an old Farmer's Almanac. When Miles returns home to sort through a late neighbour’s things, he finds a letter…and a story…that no one expected.

It's sweet. It's sappy. I hope you like it! #canadianauthor

There should not be NHL teams in places that aren't "hockey fishbowls." If players think Toronto fans are too much, go play literally any other sport 🙄🙄🙄
Think Vegas is a great place for Mitch Marner. Winning organization. Great place to live. Adios, winter.

Most importantly: It's Las Vegas. No hockey fishbowl. A city where a pro athlete can easily get lost. Some players fit that ethos better and I expect Marner to be very successful there.

I wrote a Shakespearean-style sonnet about our office printer, which randomly chooses not to work. It's classical. It's ridiculous. It's worth the read. #CanadianWriter

A bit of a softer post, rather than the usual. I finished my latest short story!

Inspired by a real D&D session, Urg Bloodstew—a gentle half-orc cleric with a big heart—tries to organize a Midsummer festival to surprise his sweetheart, but everything goes hilariously sideways.

My latest short story is about a cursed quill that forces its user to only write the truth. A more dramtic toned story with a hint of magical nonsense. It's called "The Truth in Ink."

ICE causing fires from their own tear gas and flash grenades, don’t get it twisted. They’re the ones causing damages to cities.

What’s happening in LA is a manufactured crisis - massive ICE raid led to protests, Trump went over the governor and brought in national guard and is now threatening to bring in marines. Violence is the goal so he can militarize the US like Putin does Russia. This letter is important: #LosAngeles

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

My next short story is here in record time!
"Eggplant Parm Lasagna: Eventually."

- It's the absurdly long recipe blog that parodies absurdly long recipe blogs.
- It's a hit piece on Jamie Oliver
- It's funny. It's heartfelt. It's cheesy.

Bon Appetit!

My second short story--"The Street of Lost Items"--is now live! This was also written in 1-hour as part of a weekly short story competition.

A man takes wrong turn on the way home and finds something he'd lost long ago. It's dedicated to our girl Winnie, who sadly passed last Sunday 😿😻 #catdad

I nearly had a chance to meet him when he toured the winery at Niagara college in 2009. As I recall, there was a dinner served and they were looking for volunteers. "Looks great on a resume" they told us. I opted not to. It was cold and rainy and everyone who went got sick with the flu.
