I've thought of a better answer since yesterday. I knew it was time when I wanted to be with her because of her good points and despite her bad points. I think (hope!) she felt the same way about me. If you feel that way about him, it's time.

I knew when I realised I couldn't live without her. It was the correct decision as we've now been married for 40 years.
