Our cities can be dangerous in the US, with homicide rates 10x the 5.9 average. If you go to a finer detail and look at individual neighborhoods, the Fuller Park neighborhood in Chicago had a homicide rate of 195 per 100,000. This is almost 100% black on black crime. It's a mess.

You might consider reading this. Turley is a reasonable moderate in this "age of rage" in US politics.

Also, the UK punishes seemingly minor infractions, below. These examples come up pretty often (I like Jonathan Turley and Glenn Greenwald, both are strong free speech advocates--perhaps what I remember comes from these two). Trump is now censoring speech that criticizes Israel-that's wrong.

Free Speech restrictions by the UK government seems to get the most attention in the USA. Germany second. Here's a quick example from Perplexity below. When you hear about the details of some of these other cases, government response seems shockingly overreaching and harsh. Seems awful!

Since you're a birder and a biologist/ecologist, I thought you might be interested in a book by an author I love.

I haven't read this yet, but I've read many of his other books. They are very readable and always interesting.

In the US, mozzarella cheese is usually sold in packaged slices. See pictures. It is much drier than fresh. Fresh Mozzarella is used but not very often for cooking. We can also buy it in shredded form, but that is still drier than fresh. So yes, Chicago deep dish has a thick layer of this cheese.

2000 is the claim. Are you guys in Wisconsin now? If so, I'm a little jealous.

Italians might be happy too because Chicago-style deep-dish pizza may now become a thing for Italians. Maybe it will become the official pizza of the Catholic church. 😏

When I hear the name Pope Leo, this guy always comes to mind.

There is a pizza chain in the US called Papa John's. So the joke is if he wins, his name should be:

And I have always been amazed at how small and delicate the bones of the middle ear are. Especially the stapes.

Easter is coming and we must have our eggs because we have a tradition to dye them at Eastertime. Great fun coloring and decorating Easter eggs with the little children. Denmark better give'm up, this could mean war. 😏

Our best phone photo from our backyard in Maryville. That would be a big lunch for Mr. Fox. Thought I would share. If you don't know, Maryville is one city north of Collinsville which if I remember right is where Travis is from.

Since he has completed his sentence (there was none), maybe he's eligible, see below text from Perplexity. Else, I think this verdict will be overturned by the Supreme Court which will include a stern scolding on the merits of this case directed at Bragg, Merchan, etc.
