Sad news about John Stapleton. Home and away for decades and never heard anyone with a bad word for him. Seemed like a thoroughly good bloke. RIP.

@bluemoonpodcast.com question for “ask the panel”, “Is it about time we showed some more love to Jeremy Doku?”.
I thought he was the best City player in the club World Cup & has continued it on into the start of the season with a definite improvement in his final delivery.

Very sad news about Ricky Hatton. Remembering seeing him at quite a few City away games early 2000’s, even knocked his beer over at the Fernhurst, Blackburn!

Brilliant again from the Lionesses. Chloe Kelly is clutch. Thought Spain’s subs put them on top and wasn’t confident with the penalties, but England pulled it off.
Thought Carter and Hampton had great games/tournaments.

Not sure how England got away with that. So many soft penalties at the right height for the keeper.

Good luck to Palace, wish them well on their trips to Europe, they’ll enjoy it.

The game went how Guardiola will have wanted it to but we didn’t do enough.

A dismal day for VAR.

The Football Fanzine Culture blog; an explanation
In the 80s there wasn’t much in a rural Derbyshire village beyond riding over hill and dale, sci fi from the library and the music of the John Peel show. Oh yeah, there was football obviously, play…

On this day in 1991, Yorkshire Television infamously cut away from Sheffield Wednesday’s celebrations, when other ITV regions stayed at Wembley.

Instead choosing to show a 1986 recording of ‘War of the Monster Trucks,’ leaving thousands of fans fuming at home.

football affordable for children and families.

This has to be celebrated. Who knows - maybe it will catch on? Lol

@davidmooney.co.uk Massively enjoyed the Danny Tiatto full interview, but I must have blanked from my mind he played in 98/99. How was he suspended for all 3 play off games? He came on v York in the last league game.
