Yet, some goons think, because a person who donated to him has shares attached to a company that has shares in a healthcare company (like most people's pensions) he's trying to privatise the NHS.

If tax rises are more targeted fine. I don't mind a rise. I earn more than average and no kids. I'm thinking of those on less with children, leave them alone.

I thought the effectiveness of polygraph tests had been debunked a long time ago.

Wages have stagnated for years. While costs have rocketed. Yes, it's great the min wage has risen. What about those on a bit more than min wage, with kids and a mortgage. I support no new income taxes.

The last week hasn't been dull.

That's how I feel about the Guardian. Used to be the only paper worth reading, now it's just a click bait generator. I spend a lot of time whining about it because I feel betrayed.

Brexit - Boris Johnson.
Open racism - Boris Johnson
Russian interference - Boris Johnson.
Low Journalistic standards - Boris Johnson
Biased media - Boris Johnson.
There's a pattern.

And the food was shit.

I kinda agree with this sentiment. Personally I think it might be better to reduce alcohol duty in licensed places and increase it in supermarkets/shops.

Which Donald are they talking about?
November 14, 2025 at 2:22 PM
Sorry James, this is just not true. I ran comms at HMT and we *never* briefed out a specific measure weeks before a Budget. It’s a recipe for chaos. Most of these stories are educated guesswork or sometimes briefed by other departments trying to influence the Budget decision making process.
November 14, 2025 at 2:17 PM
An ex Treasury spokesman has said this is not true. They never leak about budget proposals due to the chaos it could cause.

To be fair, she has a point, just not for the reasons she imagines.

Spent years propping up the Tories. The Guardian was all too rare a ray of sunshine. Then they changed to chase rage bait clicks. I feel betrayed.

"sources" say it was the OBR that leaked the info
Source = another post on this platform.

I think they need to learn politics though.

I said at the time that the press conference was weird. I'll accept that although she didn't actually say income tax was going up it was a reasonable interpretation. If she's changed her mind because it's not needed then great. As usual crappy comms.
