Problem is the majority in Edmonton could care less what the Mayor & Councillors do. In the recent election 70% of the eligible vote did not vote. Knack is Mayor on 11.5% of the eligible vote. This is hard to believe when the city is 5 billion in debt & taxes are up 20% in 3 yrs.. Manning is correct

Edmonton is doomed, IMHO. The city is 5 billion in debt. What did we get for it? We got a 20% tax increase in the last 3 years. We can look forward to another 6.4% increase this year. Most people are oblivious to the fact that Edmonton spends the 1st 400 million tax dollars servicing City debt.

Smith is a federalist, let's be serious. As for coal, all you have to do is ban coal shipments in BC. Here's the rub. BC & all the Green fanatics are all against carbon, unless it's created in BC. Then it's okay to ship it to China because the BC gov makes lots of money & can pretend to be green.
