Private sector workers in Alberta are tired of the ATA using the government as a proxy to blackmail them into paying for outrageous union compensation packages, when they will never receive the same. Who gets a $70,000\yr pension? Oh, teachers do... do you?

Problem is the majority in Edmonton could care less what the Mayor & Councillors do. In the recent election 70% of the eligible vote did not vote. Knack is Mayor on 11.5% of the eligible vote. This is hard to believe when the city is 5 billion in debt & taxes are up 20% in 3 yrs.. Manning is correct

The ATA is using the AB gov as a proxy to blackmail private sector workers into paying outrageous teacher compensation packages that they will never receive themselves. Student to teacher ratio is 23 to 1. The numbers clearly show that class size problems are a result of incompetent administration.

Edmonton is doomed, IMHO. The city is 5 billion in debt. What did we get for it? We got a 20% tax increase in the last 3 years. We can look forward to another 6.4% increase this year. Most people are oblivious to the fact that Edmonton spends the 1st 400 million tax dollars servicing City debt.

If you really want to make a difference just take a page out of the Liberal play book and ban coal shipping in BC. BC is one of the largest coal exporters in the world. The BC NDP spews green talk all day but allows millions & millions of tons of coal exports yearly. Just ban BC coal exports...
