Love tech, the outdoors, and honesty...but maybe that's redundant

I worry that, hole up in our echo chambers, we are losing the skills to take in negative feedback and better ourselves

I expect it makes stepping outside our in-group even harder... scarier

I really hate this!

Working with my older family members, this kinda shit leads to mistaken installs...and I guess #Google doesn't care

My only solace is that when I don't accidentally click on the sponsored app, that company paid Google and got nothing from me...I hope

Reminder when trying to be dramatic by ending your point with 'Full Stop!'...you can't then start talking again

You have to...well...Stop

I like talking to people, but not talking about people

Ideas, concepts, how-to's, data, experiences, challenges, triumphs, thoughts on the future? Yes, please

What so-and-so did, is doing, or (the worst) what you think they will do? Buh bye

I don't care for UI Hyperbole I encounter, like 'Thanks'. There is nothing feeling any appreciation for me not logging in. And, in fact, I suspect Google would prefer I do sign in

Maybe a No, and Sign In, Thanks would be closer to reality

It is interesting that Mike Johnson thinks of the #NoKings protest as an expression of hate for America (www.politico.com/news/2025/10...)

I cannot think of a more obvious expression for wanting a King to run America...sort of just saying 'I want a King to run America'
Johnson describes planned No Kings rally as ‘hate America,’ ‘pro-Hamas’ gathering
Organizers largely blew off the rhetoric, but some Democrats online criticized the tone.

Are there any 'Tuna With a Heart' companies (a la Mr. Mom) out there?

There do seem to by plenty 'without a heart'

Civil discussion with a sincere interest in what the other side is concerned about is essential to fully resolving a conflict

Anger, aggression, insults, mockery, and belittlement may win the day, but does not resolve the issue

Understand why you fight and what you hope to achieve before engaging

Is it wrong that, when interrupted by a "subscribe to our newsletter" on a web page, I enter an email address of root@<their domain> -and- subscribe to everything they offer?

An interesting side-effect of having fiber internet is realizing the slowness I see when logging in to my provider, #FrontierCommunications, is all on their end

Does every downtown have a 'haunted' shop with a new business that lasts a year, then vacant for a year, then a new business restarts the cycle?

@legaleagle.bsky.social Do you think 'reaching a settlement with NDAs' with companies has a net positive or negative for overall capitalism and/or consumer?

Given a choice between unhappiness and false happiness, choose the former

Unhappiness has a built-in incentive to conquer, and is more rewarding to overcome

False happiness has no incentive to change, and requires a return to unhappiness to overcome

The time of waiting for someone to fix this is over. We know who will fix this and how we will make things right...

Us, and with hard work...starting with a reckoning of how we got here

D: Politics is just a big circus to me, a very dysfunctional circus

M: And that's saying something, since circuses are weird by their very nature

D: I can only imagine how this all looks from the point of view of other countries

M: They probably see a big freak show, just clowns & bearded ladies
