Here's an excerpt/timeline from Jimmy Carter's book "Palestine: Peace not Apartheid". He makes a couple of things clear 1. Arabs pre 48 were angry at Jews PURCHASING property and at IMMIGRATION not at them "stealing" land. 2. The British were no help. 3. The Arabs weren't welcoming friends:
