Writing xenharmonic music is really tricky. I'm trying a pencil and paper approach, keeping most elements simple. I've written a couple of chorales using just intonation that explore shifting reference pitches. Sevish's Scale Workshop lets me try any pitches I want so my ears don't get totally lost.

Trying to write a chorale in just intonation. I'm using one reference pitch at a time as 'Do' and modulating into different key centers by keeping one note as a common tone.
I don't know exactly how this will sound, or how I'll record it, but it sure is fun to write with pencil and paper.

Yesterday, I started drafting songs for a new album. I have a sabbatical coming up in a few months, so I want to seize the opportunity to really dig into a music project.

I'm writing original music, revisiting older originals, and possibly covering some traditional music too.

Music is where my restless heart finds comfort and strength. It's so dear to me.

Here, I'll mostly be sharing about the music I love and the music I make, and the projects and experiments that help me explore.

Been building my own instruments for years now. Since I'm my own customer I can set the standards as low as I want!

Here is my newest and current favorite one, a bari/bass console steel guitar. Tuned EADGBDEG, 30" scale.
