You might not be able to join our tree planting sessions, but that doesn't mean you can't join our 1,000-year legacy.

I'm sketching out the requirements at the moment and would love to speak to people who can help - even if it's just to chat through the scoping process.

If that's you, or anyone you know, please drop a comment below or get in touch directly. I'd love to have a chat.

So, we need help to create a 1,000-year legacy.

Do you know anything about developing apps?

Do you know anyone who does?

Or, do you know of any resources or funding that might support our app developing plans?

The problem is, we're not app developing types.

It's a slow, manual process that relies on Croppers being on hand to note each tree on his trusty clipboard. He must have covered all of Wild Heart Hill at least twice during that session.

Ultimately, in place of the clipboard / spreadsheet combo, we want to develop an app.

Speaking of getting on a bit...

The clipboard is very much a temporary solution.

Behind the scenes, each tree is logged on a spreadsheet, so that we don't need to remember what was planted where.

Plant and forget is no longer an option for us. Instead, we're planting, monitoring and remembering.

Which is all fairly easy, except the remembering - and not just because we're getting on a bit and our memories are starting to fade!

You'll probably also have seen Mark Cropley running around with a clipboard, trying his best to log every tree that was put in the ground.

This is fundamental to the success of our Tree Growing programme.

It’s a lovely place for a parkrun.. so long as you don’t mind a bit of a breeze from time to time!!

Thanks man. I’ve been dealing with the same injury for a couple of years now.. I guess photo taking is as close as I’ll get to it for now.

I once tried a Chinese sweet that had an explosion of salt at its centre. There was no arse taste to it, but the salty centre left my mouth puckered like an arsehole for a good half an hour.
