Imagine Democrats control enough state delegations to re-elect Biden.

The Senate--most likely now GOP-controlled--is required to choose a VP from among the top two VP vote getters. They choose Trump's running mate as VP.

What'd I miss/get wrong, @sarahbinder.bsky.social @kevinmkruse.bsky.social?

Flips in the seats below, which lean one way or the other, could flip a delegation or knock it into a tie, which I believe would nullify that state delegation's vote:

MI-08
MI-10
NE-02
NV-03
OR-06
PA-17

Even wilder:

Here are the seats I think most likely to determine the makeup of those state delegations in 2024:

AZ-01
AZ-06
CO-03
CO-08
ME-02
MI-07
NC-01
PA-07
PA-08

A Democratic loss in Alaska's sole district, which leans Democratic according to Cook, would do the same!

The incoming House will choose a president from among the top three vote getters, with each state getting one vote.

Combining Cook Political's list of tossup seats with
@propublica.bsky.social's state delegations...
