Idle. Sometimes bone-idle. Trying to write fiction, intermittently. Also (still) trying to find the right chap. Easily distracted. I'm in South Australia, by the way […]

I looked at some news and now I need to go and isolate for a while until the urge to punch things subsides.

I've always found Australia Day to be a bit pointless, a dag hanging from a Sheep's bum sort of day.

Apparently the Gilded Globules are being dolloped out today. That must be nice, if that's your thing.

Excellent interview with Jo Dyer on ABC tv News Breakfast re the Adelaide Writers' Festival: very critical of Malinauskis' behind-the-scenes manoeuvring (an 'own goal'), and clearly opines that the festival is now dead in the water unless the remaining board members reinvite Abdel-Fattah. Good […]

Pakidge Watch! A thing I ordered from a Melbourne business, mysteriously sent to me from Sydney, has arrived at a depot down the road a bit. In fact, it's arrived twice within a two-minute period yesterday. Australia Post continues to baffle me.

Walked to the shops and back again so I am now excused from moving around for the rest of the day. Bought a container for some stuff that needs containing. Half price. This is the correct price. The local colesworths is about to be renovated, which is good 'cos it's horrible in there. Maybe […]

So many corellas out there this morning. Not for the first time I'm reminded of The Goon Show 'cos so many of them have the same querelous quavery tonal aspects of Minnie Bannister.

The agonies have left me, at least for now. As this means I can walk properly again without shouting obscenities, I can think about going somewhere tomorrow. Anywhere, really, it doesn't matter where.

Oh god, another day best spent offline I suspect. See you around 5pm or maybe a bit later.

Maybe I'm in a bad mood but I've just blocked two people. One for being an irrational waste of pixels, the other for the greatest crime of all - whataboutism.

Seriously, if you want to talk about [big important issue] go ahead, somewhere appropriate. Don't shoehorn the issue into someone else's […]

So glad I went for a walk yesterday because it would be impossible today. True, the painkillers have worked. Not very much, but they have worked, and I must have slept for almost 90 minutes. Yay. And I can't have any more pills yet.

Let's make a deal, everyone. When someone asks for a good video about something, let's all promise not to recommend a book. And conversely, when someone asks for a book, let's never ever recommend a video. OK?

Hey everybody who knows about the history of mental illness. Someone I care about has ADD and is really badly disabled. I have a big ask of you.

Where can I read a history of societal attitudes to people with poor focus and weak executive functions ***BEFORE 1920***? That is, not a history of […]

Oh no, it's my agonies, appearing for the first time this year. Time for pills and self-pitying introspection until sleep becomes possible again.
