The tarnishing of the Wisconsin Football brand writ large. While in-State recruiting is not the only way to skin the cat, this is a very troubling take. Luke Fickell was hired to exceed the accomplishments of his predecessor, not struggle to come close.
"I have to keep in mind that this isn’t the same Wisconsin they used to be. This isn’t the Barry Alvarez Wisconsin. ... One more losing season, and it’s kind of uncertain."

What Gavin Meier committing to Minnesota means for Gophers, home-state Wisconsin Badgers
Meier's decision had to do with what he believes Minnesota can offer him and with what Wisconsin isn't right now.

Brady Collins' strength and conditioning program has yet to produce notable results for the Badgers. Now in his 3rd year with Wisconsin Football, he is doubling down on adding weight to everyone. Bigger is better is the new mantra. Never mind speed and agility, also sorely lacking to date.

Wisconsin's $80 Million Man, Luke Fickell is on a charm offensive initiating a couple of high-profile media interviews this week, one with Madison Newspapers and, here, with the New York Times. How much longer must we suffer this insufferable man in Madison? 🙄

Beer sales at Camp Randall brought in a meager $3 million for Wisconsin's Athletics Department last season. Something is going to have to give here. Perhaps Mr. Fickell could pledge an annual portion of his salary to the NIL Collective?

That awkward moment when you forget where you are. Twice.
Here a side-to-side comparison between Hitler and Musk and their salute...

Jan 20, 1961. A blizzard the day before. Temperatures well below freezing. Without a coat or hat, JFK gave a speech we still quote today. Robert Frost, 86, recited a poem. Steinbeck and Hemingway and Rothko were among the VIPs. A million people gathered in the cold to hear it.
This is the precedent.

Wonder how that will play to all those MAGA supporters?🤔
The MAGA bunch coming to the inauguration are learning that the billionaires will be warm, cozy and inside while they’ll be ignored and left out in the cold.

The 2025 season could see Wisconsin's defense take another step backwards. This coaching staff has seen portal losses everywhere on defense and those have not been insignificant. A rebuild on that side of the ball could take years!

Wisconsin's and Luke Fickell's portal needs are a long list especially when coupled with all the other off-season to-dos. Fortunately, it will be a longer than normal off-season.

Interesting press conference this afternoon from Luke Fickell on his new recruiting class which saw him both please and a bit contrite about recent events. One of the bigger take-aways: Fickell hinted there may be 2 hires to replace fired OC Phil Longo, both an OC and a QB coach.
December 4, 2024 at 10:11 PM
A player the Badgers cannot afford to lose. Almost none of Fickell's first recruiting class remain with Wisconsin. What benefit is better recruiting if you cannot keep them on the roster?
Wisconsin receiver Trech Kekahuna is headed to the transfer portal. He caught 25 passes for 339 yards and two touchdowns and also returned kicks. Tough one for the Badgers, who lose a guy with dynamic playmaking ability. That 2023 recruiting class has taken a huge hit.

Excellent news for Badger Football - Landyn Locke is staying committed which probably also means that his brother Braedyn is staying put despite the OC change!
Landyn Locke has signed with Wisconsin's 2025 class, which means the Badgers will be bringing in two quarterbacks: Locke and Carter Smith. Both are expected to enroll early.
