For the record, this is what I mean by "what-about-cars-ism".

This is an idea whose time is coming. It makes no sense to tie Canadian policy to the US's anymore.

However, this needs to be structured in such a way that the Chinese EV firms can import cars at first but also need to build plants in Canada www.thestar.com/news/canada/m...

Some would describe my politics as a bit neoliberal but nevertheless the past few years have radicalized me against the billionaire class, Andrew Coyne is right on the money in this column. www.theglobeandmail.com/gift/...

Since we are talking about live shows in Vancouver, here’s a clip from the Mary Ancheta Quartet’s Betty Davis tribute show the other week at the Fox Cabaret. Krystle dos Santos on vocals. Gotta give props to Tim Reinert whose Infidels Jazz is putting on dozens of shows a month now.

"Light bars" jumped the shark when they started showing up on ICE cars, but the "stripper" Model Y looking better than its more expensive counterpart may be the final nail in their horizontally lit coffin.

My observation after 18 months of owning a Mustang Mach-E and hanging about in the forums and subs is that MME owners are a generally happy and contented bunch.

This four way stop is hilarious so far. I want it to work but there may be too many moving parts. I think there’s a strong case that if the goal is to prioritize pedestrians over cars in this intersection, you need to close it to cars.

Paint in place for Edgemont @ Highlands conversion into a four-way stop. This is good, though I imagine things will be a bit rough at first.

At the end of the line. After what must be 7 years of construction, the Cypress Mountain Path from Chippendale Road to the future Cypress Village looks like it needs another year or two. I ride it a few times a year to see how far they've got. It's going to be great when it's done. Not easy terrain.

It's been a fun project "gravelating" my 2017 Norco VLT. It had a nice spec for an e-bike marketed as a commuter - thru axle frame, Bosch Performance CX, Deore brakes, and importantly no crappy suspension fork. Now tubeless, 11-speed, jones bars, makes for a fun but easy day in out in the sticks.
