This is why I think the most interesting way to handle Paris of Troy, from our 21st century perspective, is to make him a man ahead of his time, someone who's a bit off when it comes to Greek standards of heroism but is more sympathetic to modern sensibilities.

This is why I like the way Fromsoft does things, Souls builds still have some limitations but are much more flexible and customizable than the ossified numbermaxxing systems of other RPGs (and particularly MMOs). If you like greatswords and think Pyromancy looks cool, you can just use them.

It can be criticized, but this specific angle feels weak. I think there's way too much bloom, but that's not inherently AI.

One thing I'll say in its favor is that the gen AI stuff is, by all accounts, extremely minor. Last I checked it was literally texture filler. I have issues with the art direction because it shares some Kinkadian sensibilities that are found in some AI art, but that's a common trait of UE5 games.

Tbf that's probably the actual CIA-sponsored one, but this isn't too far either

Maybe I'm too pessimistic of course. 2 games in 1 has happened before, with Empire at War for example. And Owlcat had naval combat, though that was part of adapting the TTRPG. But GW is certainly not gonna push CA to do it lol, it's crazy of little they care about BFG

I'm simultaneously convinced that the game would feel utterly wrong without it and that they're not gonna do it. Maybe handwave it away with abstract number values and cutscenes.

To give an idea of just how cool this game's ideas are, you know the huge monster from The Mist that everyone always brings up as one of the film's best moments? Well, it's in one of the DLCs. Its implementation received many criticisms, but now it's getting adjusted!

Generally speaking it seems like they've tried to smoothen the difficulty curve, fix some controversial design and introduce some QoL. They took inspiration from the Terror from the Void overhaul mod, while staying closer to vanilla of course.
