Needed to look this up last night to get the precise language of one of my favorite Toni Morrison quotes:

"There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal."

It’s one thing for a journalist who doesn’t cover ag to not know USDA prohibits the use of hormones in pork production, but it’s inexcusable for the Secretary of Agriculture to be so ag illiterate.
TAPPER: The European Union don't take as much as American pork because they have issues w/ hormones used in pork. It's not an issue about tariffs

BROOKE ROLLINS: No no no. This is really important. Here's the bottom line. They are using fake science & unsubstantiated claims to not take our products

the “silver lining” of high egg costs, says the secretary of agriculture, is that anyone with a backyard can build a coop and start raising chickens:
Trump’s Sec of Agriculture Brooke Rollins says the solution to high egg prices for Americans is to get some chickens and raise them in your backyard.

Between 2017 and 2022, farmer demand for foreign farmworkers increased by almost 65%. But as demand has skyrocketed, so has resistance to regulations that would protect this vulnerable workforce.

Jim Costa, one challenger, is 72 (!) and has been pro-Big Ag throughout his career.
