Pretty sure that if you traced the design of that set back a few decades, you'd end up on the desk of an overworked Soviet designer somewhere in the Urals.

My dad gifted me his old set a few years ago, which I'm pretty sure is an East German military bivouac cooking and utensil set. It is great, and utterly indestructible.
