There's an extra complication that in physics everything is continuous-time and described by a differential equation, but the standard definition of LOCC is intrinsically discrete-time. Because of this, I once supervised a master's thesis on reformulating LOCC as a continuous-time Lindblad equation.

I think the problem is that people in different communities don't speak the same language. In quantum information everyone knows what LOCC and therefore what entanglement is. Physicists might have intuitive ideas about this but they don't necessarily know the precise mathematical definition of LOCC.
