Oh, the places we go for our kids. I’m at a noisy, smelly, loud, and way too busy bouncy type place for the kiddo’s birthday, and I want to crawl into my blankie cocoon after a bleach bath.

I keep trying to meet these grandparents where they are, but it’s constant hurt. I see memories of years of effort from me nurturing these relationships, and this year, I’m deciding to let them burn. I’m still sad about it though.

Trying to not be in my feelings, but our family has hurt us lately. It’s hard when I see friend’s grandparents (or even my in-laws) so involved with their grandkids lives. Here we are, I’m 2 weeks post op (3rd breast cancer surgery) and my kid’s bday is this week. No one is here. He’s off all week.
