Shame you dont live near me. I can't get enough knackered wellies. My donkeys love to play with them, but they fall to bits after a month violent action.

August is North Pembrokeshire Open Studios season and I got this at Linda Norris's studio in Maenclochog. It's called Shearwater Night. Linda (and I)love the encounters with wild birds, such as puffins and Manx shearwaters, that are part of an overnight stay on the islands of Skomer and Skokholm.

The Shell House, Cilwendeg, near Boncath, north Pembrokeshire. 1820s, then lost in the undergrowth and forgotten. Restored in the 00s and a lovely place to visit.

A close encounter with Strumble Head Lighthouse last night. Visible on the horizon from our house in north Pembrokeshire, but this was my first chance to look around the site, on a tour by the National Park.

Great day for a boat trip round Strumble Head. It all looks so different from the water!

A lovely week for wildlife explorations.
1. An evening trip round Skomer Island surrounded by thousands of puffins, shearwaters, etc.
2. Exploration of a woodland nature reserve to monitor hazel dormice.
3. Have the honour to feed a growing number of hedgehogs, some of whom are contortionists. ❤️

First dormouse of 2025. I check nest boxes at nature reserves in north Pembrokeshire first these rare little beasts. 🥰

Lovely new book about my favourite place. Lots of stuff I didn't know but do now. Locally researched, written and produced. Bilingual. Harlech

I was chatting with artist/author Steve Smallman online the other night, during the last night of Storm Darragh. I had to say goodbye as I had to check on the donkeys. When I got back, he had done this sketch and sent it to me. I had to buy it and you can see why!

Home before the rain started, Robin and Bob love their new jumpers. Robin, who has separation anxiety is now part of the Aston Villa family and will never be lost and alone again.💜💙

Sunset tonight here in north Pembrokeshire. The sky was full of the calls of crows heading from the fields to their roost above the Ferryport. The Merlin bird song app picked up a Redwing in the hedgerow.

Before I retired, I planned how I would spend my new leisure time. I trained for a licence to handle dormice and monitor them for the National Dormouse Monitoring Programme. Why did I wait until I was 60 to start?
