Another little haul from the vintage/antiques stall at Spitalfields market - really lovely old mother of pearl buttons, probably cut by hand or at least an older mechanical process (uneven thickness, slightly different sizes, each very much an individual)

Two pieces finished last week. The trousers are the Eve pattern from Merchant & Mills in cotton gabardine; the jacket is the Closet Core Sienna Maker pattern in double cloth ‘cashmere’. Very sensible work clothes 🤣 Next projects will involve bright broderie cottons. Summer she is coming!

Last week I made the rather overdue discovery (been working down the road for 16 months) that on Thursday afternoons Spitalfields market has a small but impressive antique/vintage/real old tat section. Which is brilliant. Finds so far - buttons, silk, lace. Joy.

Lovely lunch in Paris - this place is heaving (I’d say at least 70% local), the food is good, and the prices eminently sensible. Strong recommend.
