MSc student @ugent-botany | currently working on the Taxonomy of East-African Ipomoea 🌱🫶🏼 Scientific Programme Coordinator @convolv-network
This past week I attended the AETFAT 2025 Congress, where I had the privilege of meeting many skilled and inspiring scientists from around the world.

I also presented my research on East African Ipomoea (Convolvulaceae). A rewarding experience to share my work for which I’m incredibly grateful. 🍠🌱

Introducing to the world Distimake aparantae, a new species of #Convolvulaceae, endemic to the Western Ghats (India) - an extraordinary biodiversity hotspot. Collected for the first time in September 2023! How much undescribed #plant diversity is still out there?

Instead of listing my publications, as the year draws to an end, I want to shine the spotlight on the commonplace assumption that productivity must always increase. Good research is disruptive and thinking time is central to high quality scholarship and necessary for disruptive research.
