I wish people could see the conditions their milk is gathered. Cows lie in their feces to ward off insects and their udders only get a quick swipe of a dirty rag before the milk pump is attached. My mom always boiled the milk before serving it.

Exactly as predicted all those years ago. We need Quebec, but I wish more work was done to find a better way.

Yes, isolated the US economically will be hard on everyone, but it's the only way forward if we value democracy and justice. Isolate the virus, let it suffocate on its own detritus.

I'm surprised that people think there is going to be another election in the US. The window where democracy might survive is closing rapidly. What happens with those people illegally sent to Puerto Rico is the last chance of saving America.

This is just the bully toying with us. Let's just carry on without the US. It won't be easy to start, but it will get better in time and without the back and forth nonsense of the Americans.

Agreed. We can't do it all and, as you said, alliances are going to be vitally important. But I would feel more comfortable if Canada would commit a LOT of money to bolstering our military. It worries me that Carney is concerned about spending at a time like this.

You skirt the issue, but there is an economic advantage to a military build up: jobs, use of those big auto plants that will be idle and using up a lot of the raw resources that we normally ship to the States. I'm as anti-war as they come, but even I can see that we will need to defend ourselves.

We grow our own tomatoes and strawberries year round in Canada. We're good.
